This article explains the DataTenant Cloud storage tiers.

Storage tiers decide what sort of block storage your virtual disks/volumes reside on in the cloud's back-end infrastructure. There are four storage tiers:

  • Standard HDD: Standard spinning disk storage with flash caching
  • Ultra HDD: Hybrid spinning disk and flash storage
  • Standard SSD: Flash disk storage
  • Ultra SSD: Premium flash disk storage

In addition, storage tiers will have a version indicator, like v0, v1, v2, etc. These version numbers correspond to hardware generations in the storage hardware. Higher version numbers indicate new generations of hardware. Higher versions will often (though not always) be more expensive than lower versions.

Volumes can be moved between storage tiers at user request. Please contact support@datatenant.com to initiate a storage tier change request.
